Our Testimonials
Hear what our apprentices have to say about our apprenticeships.
I was not at MBKB long but when I transitioned I definitely learnt what a good tutor was. Claire was amazing and I would recommend her to anyone, she is patient and makes sure you understand something. She wouldn't let you fail either she was always so positive and you never felt you could not go to her.

“My role at LendInvest is People Operations Assistant and I am currently studying for my Level 3 CIPD in People Practice.
Before I started my apprenticeship I was working full time at a recruitment agency in London. When I discovered the People Assistant role at LendInvest, I felt the opportunity sounded very interesting and it was a perfect alternative to not going to university. I felt it would give me the chance to develop my people, communication and organisational skills whilst learning on the job.
Excited and nervous as I’d never done an apprenticeship before, however my team is amazing and very supportive. I also have a course tutor and Learning & Development Coach who support me with my studies. LendInvest also have a Learning and Development Manager who works closely with all apprentices to ensure they have the correct support in place.
The freedom of having time to study and everyone being so supportive. No matter who anyone is, if you have a question about their department and team they will be happy to help and no question feels like a silly question. Also my manager really cares about how I’m getting on with my studies and she makes sure I have enough time and my work balance is ok – everyone is very supportive.
Balancing my studies with my work has been easy for me as I have a study day on a Friday and put my out of office on. This gives me a full day to focus and means I can pick up any queries on the following Monday. Luckily because we have a hybrid working set up, I can work from home on my study day and I don’t have distractions around me which means I can really focus on my work.
I would definitely advise doing an apprenticeship and can say it’s one of the best decisions I have made. It gives you so much freedom, you’re earning money whilst getting a qualification and learning so many skills about real work life.”

I started the apprenticeship as an administrator, and have ended the apprenticeship as a Head of Payroll in another organisation. I think this was only possible through the knowledge and experience gained from my course.
Liam McCarthy From the Office for National Statistics
“I chose to pursue a payroll apprenticeship to aim to open opportunities for myself in the future, by combining my existing knowledge with a level 5 qualification.
My experience with MBKB was a thoroughly enjoyable one. My tutors Laura and Emma, were both extremely helpful in guiding me through what was a challenging journey, due to certain work commitments. Despite these challenges, I was able to successfully navigate through the course and pass.

Apprenticeship – Payroll Assistant Manager

Not only have I gained a qualification but my career has excelled too, I couldn’t have achieved this without the confidence this course has given me. The knowledge given by my tutor was invaluable and for that reason I would certainly recommend MBKB to others.
Danielle Fogg from Parasol
“My name is Danielle and I’ve worked in the Payroll industry for 9 years. I chose to complete an apprenticeship through MBKB as I felt there was gaps in my knowledge that this course looked to fill. Completing this apprenticeship meant that I could learn during working hours and use the skills and knowledge within my day to day role. During the course of this apprenticeship I have received a promotion and I am now the Payroll & Pensions Manager within our firm. Not only have I gained a qualification but my career has excelled too, I couldn’t have achieved this without the confidence this course has given me. The knowledge given by my tutor was invaluable and for that reason I would certainly recommend MBKB to others.”

MBKB has helped shape who I am today, and the knowledge and attributes in my role by giving me a widespread generalist understanding of Business Admin, and how these feeds into my role specifically. I would definitely recommend MBKB to anyone moving forward who is looking for an apprenticeship; both of my tutors, Gemma, and Shell, were incredible and I couldn’t have done this without their continuous support, always being there when I emailed (any hour of the day) and helping me work through modules and questions week by week.
Megan Watkins from NHS South, Central & West Commissioning Support Unit
“My name is Megan and I’ve been working for the NHS since January 2020 in administrative roles. As part of my role, I decided to explore further learning and decided an Apprenticeship would be a really good opportunity to gain skills and knowledge in areas I hadn’t yet been exposed to in my role. I completed the Business Administration Level 3 Apprenticeship with MBKB in 2023/4, as well as the Edward Jenner Leadership Course too.
The top three things I gained from this apprenticeship were confidence; I gained the confidence to present my work, speak to stakeholders, manage, and coordinate my own work and meet deadlines. I also developed the knowledge and understanding in areas I hadn’t yet been exposed to, including finance, policies, and regulations the workplace must follow, understanding the impact on these further. This apprenticeship also helped me learn the importance of continuous personal development, and how necessary it is to continuously learn and grow within your role by exploring additional courses that can increase your skills.
My career goals are to progress within the NHS. Since completing this role, I have begun my new role within the HR Sector within the NHS, which was a huge promotion from the role I initially had when undertaking this apprenticeship. I’d like to work my way up the Operational – route within the NHS, or possibly the private sector one day.
