“I genuinely believe that apprenticeships are the best form of learning as they combine formal teaching and experience of colleagues together to ensure that the apprentice has a well-rounded understanding of payroll and can show how they have applied it in the workplace, which is why I strongly believe that apprenticeships, payroll related or not are the way forward and why I would recommend to anyone. After finishing Sixth Form I knew I didn’t want to go to university and have at least 3 more years of studying, which is why I knew an apprenticeship would be the best for me to discover which field I wanted to progress in.
My apprenticeship didn’t feel like high intensity learning, as it was natural with the support of colleagues and MBKB who guide you through what is required, whilst also being in the ‘real-world’, with the prime example of working in Payroll during the introduction of the Coronavirus Job Retention Scheme (Furlough) was a real testament to this. 16 months after I started the apprenticeship in late September 2019, I have now completed my Payroll Administrator Level 3 with a Distinction.”
