So the CJRS is going to come to an end on 31 October, and the Chancellor has announced the introduction of the Job Support Scheme on 1 November, and in some quarters this has been warmly welcomed. Read the factsheet to understand how this will work.
The Chancellor has made clear that the Job Support Scheme is intended to help retain viable jobs, but what of those jobs which are viable in the long term but which it is not possible to return to in the current climate.
From what we are led to believe, the Chancellor will make future announcements as to what support will be given to those sectors for which a return to work in any capacity is just not possible at the moment. We hope those announcements come soon.
