Level 3
HR Support Apprenticeship
HR Professionals in this role are typically either working in a medium to large organisation as part of the HR function delivering front line support to managers and employees, or are a HR Manager in a small organisation.
Programme overview: HR Support Apprenticeship
The HR Support apprenticeship is a standalone apprenticeship (without the CIPD Foundation Certificate in People Practice) which will give learners exposure to the foundations of being a people professional and explore the role they play, and how this supports the organisation to remain legally compliant, alongside how to keep up to date with changes in the profession and their sector and use HR information to drive service improvement.
The typical duration on programme will be 18 months, as well as a 3-month end point assessment (EPA period), where learners will be required to complete a consultative project and take part in a professional discussion with an assessor from the CIPD, who are our nominated end point assessment organisation.
Who is the apprenticeship for?
The apprenticeship is suitable for anyone who is in a HR role such as HR Administrator, HR Assistant, or a specialist HR role, but looking to broaden their understanding of the wider employee lifecycle.
Those with the Level 3 HR Support apprenticeship are well placed to establish themselves as a HR generalist and progress towards a HR Advisor role, or move into specialist roles, focussing on a niche area of HR.
Whilst on programme, learners will be required to gain practical exposure to the wider employee lifecycle, and have interactions with employees and managers, providing advice, support and guidance on a range of operational/transactional HR matters.
How will I be assessed?
Apprentices will compile a portfolio of evidence (POE) throughout the apprenticeship which comprises of practical work-based evidence, and tutor facilitated learning activities and professional discussions, to evidence the KSBs of the standard. To achieve the HR Support apprenticeship, learners will be required to successfully complete end point assessment which will take place after learners go through Gateway.
What will I cover?
Topics to be covered as part of the apprenticeship include business understanding, the role of the HR function, HR legislation and policy, managing HR information, HR systems and processes, professional development and process improvement
What will I receive at the end of the apprenticeship?
Learners who complete the end point assessment successfully, will be awarded the Level 3 HR Support apprenticeship, and will be eligible for Associate membership of the CIPD, with the ability to use the designated letters ‘Assoc CIPD’ after your name, which demonstrates your professional excellence and credibility.
