Lucy Nurse from Enfield Council

“I have been working in Local Government Payroll for 10+ years and I have always desired a qualification to go with my payroll experience. My apprenticeship with MBKB has enhanced my skills and payroll knowledge hugely. I have learnt, in depth, how to correctly calculate formulas manually, rather than relying on a payroll system to do this for me. Employer – Enfield Council

I would recommend this payroll course because it provides a comprehensive overview of payroll fundamentals and helps employers and employees understand the basics of payroll management.

Jack Chinnery from Clockwork Contracting Ltd

“My name is Jack Chinnery, and I am delighted to introduce myself as the Head of Payroll at Clockwork Contracting Ltd.

I have been working in payroll for the past five years, and I am passionate about ensuring that all employees are paid accurately and on time. I have a strong background in payroll and accounting, and I am looking forward to bringing the expertise and knowledge that I have learned from my time studying with MBKB to my role.

Every business needs a reliable payroll system and a team that runs that internal process to ensure all employees are paid accurately and on time. I knew payroll but confidence was a key part of my role which I was lacking. I wanted someone to tell me that I knew what I was talking about and this course was perfect for that. It strengthened my knowledge but also cleared things up for me and exposed me to other aspects of payroll.

I’d say the top three benefits I gained from this course was –

  1. Increased professionalism – A payroll course can help to increase your professionalism as a payroll professional. It will provide you with the knowledge and techniques required to be successful in the field, as well as the confidence to apply your knowledge in a professional setting.
  2. Enhanced Compliance: A payroll course will also help you understand the various laws and regulations regarding payroll and employee benefits. This can help to ensure that your business is compliant with all applicable statutes and regulations.
  3. Improved Efficiency: A payroll course can teach you how to use payroll software and other tools to automate the payroll process. This will help to reduce errors and improve accuracy, as well as save time by eliminating the need to manually enter data.

My ambitions in a payroll career include becoming a Payroll Lead, leading a payroll team, and expanding my knowledge and expertise in payroll processes. Additionally, I hope to increase my understanding of the laws and regulations governing payroll and to stay up to date on the latest trends and changes in the field. Ultimately, I hope to become a trusted advisor or auditor, helping to ensure compliance with all payroll laws and regulations in the UK.

The course supported my learning by providing a variety of activities and resources that allowed me to explore the material in a way that was engaging and effective. The course offered lectures, readings, and discussions, as well as hands-on activities that gave me the opportunity to test my understanding of the material. Additionally, the course offered individual and group projects that allowed me to apply the knowledge I had learned in a practical setting.

I would recommend this payroll course because it provides a comprehensive overview of payroll fundamentals and helps employers and employees understand the basics of payroll management. It covers topics such as payroll taxes, deductions, employee records, and other payroll-related issues. The course is easy to follow and includes interactive activities to help participants learn and retain the information. Additionally, the course is taught by experienced professionals in the field, which provides learners with an in-depth understanding of payroll.”
