“I studied for the Payroll Apprenticeship Level 3, and it was incredibly useful to have 20% of my time dedicated to studying and learning key concepts in payroll, including payroll legalisation, manual calculations and pension regulations. “Apprenticeship training programmes are specifically tailored to ensure you develop the skills meanwhile you are working, it involves a lot of hard work and to be honest, most of it is meant to be done in your spare time.
However the effort paid back, after finishing my apprenticeship, I feel more confident and I can work on different tasks which before were uneasy, an example is the gross to net calculation.
From 6 April 2022 to 5 April 2023 National Insurance contributions increased by 1.25 percentage points, I was glad to share with the team the spreadsheet MBKB provided during the webinar and exercises so we manage to calculate manually few payslips to ensure the system was updated correctly.
I would like to thank Emma, my tutor during the last few years, she’s been really patient and she supported me with all the tasks and doubts I had!”
